So since April i have lost over 30 pounds. I went from 157 to the 120's (not exactly suree what it is right now). Went from a 10 in pants (boderline 11-12) to a 5. I want to share how to loose weight in a healthy way.
1. Eating:
I would say what you eat is the most important thing in looseing weight and healthy living as a whole. I'm not going to tell you, "only eat fruits and veggie! No carbs! Oh and no fat or sugars!" because that for me at least would have been a very short diet. I would imagine most people need a treat now and then especially if you were like me eating fast food at least once a week. The key is to start cutting back.
My favorite food is Volcano Buritos from Taco Bell, i would always get 2. I started to get 1 when i went. Then i would start going only on a special day (Friday) or on a night that there was no time to make dinner. So i stopped eating it regurly and only ate it maybe once every 2 weeks. So i didn't stop cold turkey. As for meals at home, i used to have really bad eating habbits there too. I wouldn't eat lunch at school, have meal when i got home, then nibble on dinner, then eat another meal before i went to bed.
This you have to stop cold turkey however,'Eating almost three meals (not including breakfast) isn't healthy. So instead i ate a little something at school, a snack when i got home, Dinner at normal time, and if i was hungry a snack before bed,
So basically all of that was on moderation and portions kind of. Portions are key. They say having several small meals like snacks, maybe a salad, handful of nuts, a yogurt, even a sandwhich throughout teh day is better than just eating Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Also not eating anything all day and eating a lot at night isn't healthy. You are beter off to just eat during teh day and not eat dinner because you aren't burning it off then if you were to just chill out and go to bed for the night.
What to eat? the bag of chips or the apple? when you are hungry for a snack consider this.
-Did i already have those chips recently?
~yes. Go for the apple.
~No. go ahead have a few,
Am i really hungry?
~yes. answer the first question and go for that snack choice.
~no. don't eat anything because you are probably just bored.
Just make healthy choices.
So what we covered is,
~Junk food is fine in moderation. Its better to start off slow weaning off of it instead of quitting cold turkey,
~Don't starve yourself and eat later, eat through out the day.
~Make healthy choices
2. Exercise.
Now that you are eating better you probably feel better. When it comes to exerciseing ANYTHING is better than nothing! So even if you are walking around the mall thats better than watching tv. You don't have to go try out for Basketball, even though that would be great, all you have to do is get moving. Even if you just workout or exercise a few times a week, Get moving. This will help a lot.
3. Confidence
When you are looseing wieght you will start to feel better. Whether its 1 pound or 30 you will feel awesome. But throughout the process whether it be picking your snack, or running on the treadmill, think of a goal. Don't set goals like, i want to have Megan Foxs Body or Someone So's from my school, Simple ones like, i want to loose 2 pounds by ___. the more reachable the goal is the better because if you say i want to loose 20 pound sin 3 weeks, you are setting yourself up for a lot of stress and disapointment. Also if you achieve more than your goal, you will feel even better.
4. Will Power
I will be honest, i have very little will power. But by doing all these things its so much easier than just saying "i'm going ona diet, gym 6 days a week and no more junk food". if you can do that, great, if not i suggest you follow my tips.
